HMS RALEIGH OPEN DAY – THURSDAY 23 JULY – 2.00 to 7.30 PM

Come and meet the men and women of the Royal Navy and see how they are trained to fight and win at the Royal Navy’s premier South West training establishment.

Experience life as a Royal Naval recruit and get a real taste of the Service. Visit the Royal Navy Submarine School; learn about sea survival, fire-fighting and many more aspects of Naval life.  Join in the many displays and competitions including cookery demonstrations by instructors and trainee chefs.  Activities start at 2.30 pm and continue throughout the day including a police dog display, field gun run, physical training instructor demonstration and the Sea Cadets.  The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Plymouth will add their ‘special touch’ and conclude the day with ceremonial sunset and with supporting guard of honour.  Fun for all the family and an ideal opportunity to find out more for anyone considering a career in the Royal Navy. 

Admission is free. Food and refreshments stalls available.  Visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic.  Parking is limited.  Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.  All baggage subject to search.
